PM 101 Fun Camp! (3 days)

(PMPs earn 24 PDUs -- yes, PMPs do attend)

This three day Introduction to Project Management class is limited in size to ensure complete student engagement! This is NOT a spectator class! Everyone is engaged and participates! In this class, we make learning FUN!

The first day consists of a mix of short lecture, activities designed to reinforce PM concepts, and group exercises.

The second day is all about you! This day is devoted to helping you work with your project teams by better understanding yourself and your team members. From there we go into typical causes of team conflict and how to get beyond personalities so that the root cause of the issue can be resolved!

The last day is complete group work, where each group competes to analyze a failing project, develop the missing project documents such as a WBS and Risk Matrix for the project, and end with making a formal presentation where they will recommend what to do with the project.

This three day class continues to get rave reviews and has sold out every time it has been offered!

The Loss of a Friend

On May 4, 2011, PMI Charleston lost a friend, mentor, and member, Bill Rust.

Bill worked at the Medical University of SC and was very engaged in our PMI Charleston chapter. Bill was always there to help where and when he was needed, always had a smile to share, and was always there with a kind word of support.

Surviving Bill are his wife and four children, and we at PM One would like to do something in return for all that Bill gave to us. Bill was in our first PMP Prep class and played a large part in encouraging our success.

So, we have opened a raffle where one lucky winner will pick up a PMP Prep Class worth $1999 for free!

Raffle tickets are only $20 each and there will only be a max of 150 tickets sold. All net proceeds will be given to the family of Bill, who can apply it to college tuition or other expenses that their family is being faced with today. Note, the drawing will not be held until at least 100 tickets are sold. In the event that 100 tickets are not sold, then PM One reserves the right to refund all ticket purchases and cancel the drawing.
